Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 August 2026
This policy explains how data is handled when you use the Chilometrico mobile app (the "App"), in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") and applicable law.
1 Data controller
The data controller is Daniel Neamtu, the independent developer of the App. For any privacy-related request you can write to: play.neamtu@gmail.com.
2 Data handled by the App (and that never leaves your device)
To do its job, the App stores some information only locally on your device:
- the vehicles you add (make, model, reference ACI rate);
- the trips you save (kilometres, dates, calculated amount);
- your settings (theme, table year, consent choices).
This data is never transmitted to the developer or any third party, is not linked to your identity, and is deleted when you uninstall the App or clear its data from your system settings. The ACI tables used for the calculation come from public data published in the Italian Official Gazette and are bundled in the App or downloaded from a public archive; that download does not involve collecting personal data.
3 Advertising (Google AdMob)
In the free version, the App shows a banner ad served by Google AdMob. To deliver ads, Google and its partners may process certain data, including your device's advertising identifier, technical device information, and ad-interaction data.
Where required (the EEA, the UK, and certain U.S. states) the App collects your consent through Google's User Messaging Platform form before requesting personalised ads. Based on your choice, you are shown personalised or non-personalised ads. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time from within the App, under Settings → Privacy → "Ads consent (GDPR)".
For more on how Google handles data, see the Google Privacy Policy and the page on how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
4 In-app purchases
The App offers a one-time purchase to remove ads. Payments are handled entirely by Google Play: the App does not receive or store your card or payment-method details. It only receives confirmation from Google that the purchase was made, so it can disable ads on the device. Payment-data processing is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
5 Legal bases for processing
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — for personalised ads and related purposes, where required.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — for non-personalised ads and basic security/measurement, within permitted limits.
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — to handle the remove-ads purchase through Google Play.
6 Data retention
Locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. Data processed by advertising providers is retained according to their respective policies.
7 Transfers outside the EU
The service providers used (in particular Google) may process data outside the European Economic Area. In such cases the transfer relies on the appropriate safeguards provided for by the GDPR (e.g. standard contractual clauses).
8 Children
The App is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
9 Your rights
As a data subject you may exercise the rights under Arts. 15–22 GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability. Because usage data stays on your device, you can exercise most of these directly by clearing the data or uninstalling the App, and by managing your ad consent from the App's settings. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority — in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
10 Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated over time. Changes are published on this page together with the "last updated" date.
